Artist's Comments

I was asked if I could provide some step by step tutorials of the way I work. This is not the ONLY way I go about creating environments but it is becoming my favorite. I hope this is helpful! Please feel free to ask any questions about the process. I'd be glad to answer then.

this may be a dumb question, but how did you do the lines for the environment after your first drawing?
i mean the right picture in the first section from above.

did you use some kind of 3d-program or did you just draw the lines yourself one by one in Photoshop?

thanks!

Hey Olli, thanks for asking! I used the Line tool at 3 pix wide in Photoshop to plot and build my perspective grid. Does this answer you question?

You mean when the image goes from a golden brown to a blue-green? I made a new layer and using the paint bucket, dropped in a solid blue-green color to subdue the effect of the scene. I then set that layer to Soft Light, maybe reducing the opacity some so that it wasn't too overpowering. I hope this answers what you need to know. Feel free to ask more questions if it didn't or you have any others.
